Continuing our Fall tradition of watching Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea when the beauty berry bush in the back yard bears its fruit over the Labor Day weekend. This year it has proved to be a welcome distraction as our home county is currently {early September} under a mandatory evacuation order but we've heard this before and it isn't always necessary so we were in watch and wait mode for days on end it seemed.
We watched it over three days, the first was nothing photogenic - our dark family room wrapping us in cozy just by being together. I made scones for tween/teen enjoyment and adding delight to the memory.
The next night, David had to work {see hurricane watch and wait above} so we had a tea party for dinner with homemade chicken noodle soup, grilled cheese and a sliced apple. Dim lighting and yes, a few beauty berries that Rachel braved the rain to clip adorned our table.
It isn't how beautiful our evening is that is important yet making something beautiful is not wrong when it is life-giving. This adds depth to the memory of our time together. When we can't really leave home unless we're ready to leave the county - it has been a treat to have this fun tradition to help us having something to look forward to in the restless days of watching hurricane predictions, changes and local law enforcement press conferences.

What a lovely table and way to spend an evening/day not thinking about what might be going on outside! I recognize some of the teacups on your lovely table!! Sounds wonderful and COZY!!
