Slow Day: Hurricane Watching and Waiting
As we sheltered in place for the hurricane, we spent the day preparing just in case and getting some school work done! I made the 0.84 box of mix into waffles and we took them over to our neighbors for a meal we both contributed to and played Bingo and Scattergories! We collected the nature goodies on our walk just before the rain started. David got the sunset photo for me while he was at work, I could see the purple through the trees! And then Rachel and Samuel made pallets in our room for the stormy night {note: the clock is not set - that is the amount of time since the power flickered off!} and poor Scout had a very restless two nights as he was completely terrified of the storm.
The verse from my quiet time that morning was:
Hebrews 13:5, "Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, 'I will never leave you nor forsake you.'"
Grateful that we were spared from any damage and praying for all of those affected by the storm.
