Narnia Night

Posts this week will have a noticeable bent towards the topic of hospitality and traditions! We've had the opportunity to do several fun things in the last couple of weekends and I'll share them in order just because that is easiest to remember!

First, we hosted Rachel's Challenge A class over to watch The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe! They just finished reading it and writing a paper on it as a class, so this seemed like a fun way to get them all together just for fun!

We asked each student to bring a favorite food to share - I made brownies sprinkled with powdered sugar and little trees {from Target Dollar Spot a few years ago} set around on top.

And, even after telling myself I wouldn't go to the trouble - I did try Turkish Delight. I left out the food coloring and substituted almond flavoring for the rose. This is the strangest recipe I've ever made - and it is an unusual consistency - kind of like jello?! Anyway, it was a fun themed food to serve.

The kids all had a great time and I really want to be one of those moms who has my doors open to my teens and their friends, I want them spending time at our house! This is new territory for us since we are new to parenting teens - but I'd love to hear your ideas!

Another mom came and we sat and planned one activity a month for the rest of the school year! Can't wait!
