I truly wish I could send each of you one of these! This has been such fun! But, since I can only send one - I hope you will all make these for yourselves and for gifts! For those of you who asked how to make them, here are the complicated directions: dust off plate, brush on chalkboard paint, let dry. Done!
Ok, enough jabbering - the winner is: Joy in Small Packages! Congratulations! I hope you enjoy your chalkboard plate!
Now, I really must tell you about this comment that Angela Buttercup left, she mentioned that if she won the plate, she would use it in her bedroom to leave love notes to her husband! Isn't that the sweetest idea!?!
Have a great weekend, everyone!

That is a sweet idea, maybe something I could make and give as gifts to the gals in my book study "Created to be his help meet".
hhmmn, something to think about now....
Monica,
Where did you find chalboard paint in a can? I guess I'm in the dark but I've only seen it in a spray can.
Thank you!

Andrea, I got the paint at Lowe's in the paint section near the spray paint. Hope you can find some!
Monica, I am away from the computer for a few day's and come back to find the most wonderful recipes and ideas posted. I love the Avonlea idea. Want to do something similar for some new friends. I really enjoy your blog.
Was wondering how you were feeling these day's with baby #3 on the way?
WOW! :-) What exciting news to wake up to this morning! I am so thrilled to be able to use this beautiful, unique and fun plate, and what a neat story it will have behind it! *Thank You* Monica for so generously sharing your beautiful ideas and tips with all of us, and for offering this great drawing-- I feel so surprised and lucky to be the winner! :-) Thank you!!!!
Now I really need to make one, but in the meantime, I am going to hide notes around the room for him and see when he finds them...in his drawers etc. I like to draw on the shower and mirror with bath crayons, but the chalk plate sounds quicker to renew.
Angela :)
oh is that the cutes chalkboard ever......Did you prime it first?
I think I am going to have to make some of these for Christmas presents....shhhhhh....
First time at your blog, I think so totally lovely.

I made 2 of these plates, one for our family and one for a housewarming gift. But I have had trouble with the paint peeling off as I write on our plate. Did you do anything to seal it or must you use a certain plate surface?
Anonymous: I'm sorry it is peeling off. I did have this happen on one of my plates and just repainted it again with another coat of paint. I've wiped and written on the one in my kitchen several times and it seems to be fine. I did not use a sealer or even sand the glass. I'm sorry I don't know what to suggest other than to add another coat or two of chalkboard paint and see if that helps.
