We tried this the other morning, and it is yummy and very Fall smelling and tasting! Hope you enjoy it too!
This recipe is from the Betty Crocker Cookbook.
1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. packed brown sugar
3/4 c. oats
1/2 c. stick margarine or butter, softened*
1 c. buttermilk
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. nutmeg (I used pumpkin pie spice)
1 egg
1 1/2 c. chopped apples
Topping:
2 T. firm stick margarine or butter
1/4 c. all-purpose flour
2 T. packed brown sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 c. oats
Mix flour, sugar and cinnamon together - cut in butter. Stir in oats.
Mix all of the above together and spread into a prepared 9x9 pan. Sprinkle with Oat-Streusel Topping and bake at 350 for 50-55 minutes.
* I substituted 1/4 c. stick margarine and 1/4 c. applesauce for the 1/2 c. butter called for.

Yum--I love apple recipes, and this one sounds delicious.
We usually get a bunch of apples from the N's farm, but the harvest this year is quite minimal. =(

I made this for breakfast this morning for my family! It turned out scrumptious! thanks for the recipe. I am always looking for something to do with apples. We have a ton of them ready to ripen in our backyard!
