Prayer

"But now, this is what the Lord says - He who created you, O Jacob, He who formed you, O Israel: 'Fear not for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead. Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give men in exchange for you, and people in exchange for your life. Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. I will say to the north, "Give them up!" and to the south, "Do not hold them back." Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth - everyone who is called by My name, whom I created for My glory, whom I formed and made.'"

We are praying for all those affected by Hurricane Florence -

Dear Lord,
Please be with each home and family affected by this storm. Lord, be over and in and through all that takes place. Father as we watch and prepare for weather forecasts, let us also watch and prepare for Your coming! Give us opportunities to share who You are with those around us who need to hear. Use this as a time when they may be more willing to listen. Please provide and protect. Be with the First Responders who are working diligently to keep everyone safe. Be with those who have evacuated and with their homes and businesses. Command the wind and the waves according to Your plan, be Lord over the trees that they may stand tall or fall away from homes, keep the rising waters from seeping into homes. Please provide for freezers whose contents will be lost, income that won't be earned, expenses from evacuating, yard work that will overwhelm. We entrust it all to You and ask that Your will be done. Thank You Lord! In Jesus' Name, Amen

I keep thinking of this song:

Thanks for those of you who have checked on us - we are keeping an eye on things but gratefully still at home and praying for everyone who is affected!

Dear Monica,
I didn't realise that you live in that area. In the Netherlands it is also on the news. I wish you and your family all the best.
Love Marieke
