Home Blessings

I mentioned recently that I've been praying about joining in ministry with Blessings Unlimited. I'm excited to share with you that I have just signed up and am now a Consultant with Blessings.

I am not a salesperson, not one who likes to pressure or feel pressured. I promise I will never get pushy about this here on my blog. But, I would like to share with you what I'm involved in doing and share these things that God has laid on my heart. I do love home, God's Word and bringing beauty and His Word together into my home. And, I love sharing these things with others. That's where Blessings comes in.

I consider this a ministry - I did not sign up because of the money. I signed up because I love their products and wanted an opportunity to earn some things to use in my own home, share these things I love with others and have an opportunity to share with others about bringing God into our homes. I also believe that God is going to use this process to grow me in some areas that I struggle in and plan to bring my girls with me in an effort to begin teaching them some of these things and some entrepreneurial skills that will serve them in the future.

Once a month - I'm going to post a few thoughts about home that have been on my mind with a link to the Blessings catalog. If you are looking for beautiful and quality products with powerful messages - I hope you will take a minute to visit.

The day after I signed on to this opportunity, I was reading in Proverbs 24 - and a few verses jumped out at me in relation to our homes.

Proverbs 24:3-4,
"By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures."

We instantly see how our homes can be built in the ways of God and to be pleasing unto Him. By seeking wisdom, understanding and knowledge of Him and His Word.

Now, look at verses 30-34,

"I went past the field of the sluggard, past the vineyard of the man who lacks judgment; thorns had come up everywhere, the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins. I applied my heart to what I observed and learned a lesson from what I saw: A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest - and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man."

Just the visual pictures we can conjure up between these two verses. I definitely know where my desires lie - in the first passage. But, how often do I allow my sluggish ways to contribute less to my home than I'd like?

I want to live in a home that is flourishing with blessing. Which means, I'm going to have to invest myself there and give wholeheartedly.

Now, how about something fun?

Isn't this a great tote bag?! It is so cute and is big - it holds a ton of stuff!

The Blessings team was so generous to give each of us at Relevant one of these tote bags,
and I just received one in my starter kit. So, I'd love to share this duplicate one with one of you!

You can qualify for entries several ways:

* Leave a comment on this post! Tell me about a blessing in your life right now!
* If you see something you'd enjoy in your home and decide to order something, you'll qualify for an extra five entries. (Note: if you would like to order something, please just e-mail me at thehomespunheart (at) hotmail (dot) com!) or visit my website here.
* Last, if you would like to earn a half price item and are willing to host a catalog Gathering on your blog or with your own friends - you'll earn an extra five entries into the drawing.

Entries will be accepted until Saturday December 4th at 9pm EST.

Local friends - if you'd like to host a Gathering - let me know, because I'll be doing a separate giveaway for you at my kick off Gathering in January!
Hint: It will be something that is hard to mail!

After reading about this opportunity, if it sounds like something you would like more info on - please e-mail me at thehomespunheart (at) hotmail (dot) com!

Disclosure: I received a free Blessings Unlimited tote bag at Relevant - it was mine to keep with no strings attached. When I decided to partner with Blessings - a second tote bag came in the kit I purchased. I decided just for fun to give the tote bag away here.

It may seem a small blessing to others, but it is big to me -- our elderly dog almost did not survive an illness last Thanksgiving. He is happy and healthy (for an almost 15 year old dog) this year.

Beautiful products! I look forward to seeing you highlight more of them on your blog.

A blessing to me - time is a wonderful healer. After recently losing a child, I am grateful that God's grace and His time are both unbelievable gifts.

Blessings to you all!

Things around here have been a little rough lately since my hubby has been working from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 or 10:00 p.m. every day except Sunday... The blessing is, #1 I'm glad he has a job; #2 We have some hospital bills that need to be paid (I just had a baby girl.) so the overtime is needed; #3 My 3-year-old has been such a help to me and is such a big boy; #4 My parents live about 4 miles from us, so we get to see them a lot and they are a great help to me when hubby isn't around; #5 My baby girl is very laid-back and seems to be a very happy baby... I could go on... I am SO BLESSED! Even when things are tough, I am blessed!

This company is new to me, I will definetely find out more info. For now, my biggest blessings are my children with one on the way! So many opportunities and choices each day as I train these children for the Lord. That is why your blog is such an encouragement...keeping home Christ-centered. Side note: I found "Don't make me count to three" on a discount book table. I remember the title from your blog. The book is refreshing as it has truly helpful ideas that are Bible-based. It is challenging my thinking in the way I handle the issues of each day. thanks for the recommendation and today's giveaway!

A blessing I am thanking God for right now is Heaven. My son just celebrated his 3rd birthday there on Thanksgiving.

I am also interested in hosting an online gathering!

I'm glad God has given you a peace about joining the company, and is using you to share about him.

I'd love to win this! One of my current blessings is that my husband stayed up late last night to help me to clean our very messy kitchen (and I didn't even ask him) so I didn't have to do it when I woke up this morning.

I have been so blessed lately to see God's direction in our lives. We still can't see the end of the journey, but we can see the path being laid out for us.

Good for you - on deciding to be a consultant for Blessings Unlimited.

I'll have to keep it in mind for an online Gathering...sounds like that might be fun.

I just want to say that these verses really blessed me this morning - as well as your thoughts regarding them. I can so relate to what you shared. Also, I think of this often... If it wasn't me stumbling across your blog - back in the day - I might not be blogging today. Yours was the first I found, fell in love and have been so inspired since. God is using you to be a blessing. I think it's really neat the path your on and how He is leading you. ;) This new "business" will definitly be a ministry... and I think you'll in turn be blessed.

One great blessing to our family is that my DIL is expecting a baby in April. She and my son were told after testing that it was unlikely that they could have a child. But, God over-ruled!

Our whole family has been blessed with health! Earlier this week I was talking with a neighbor lady who's husband is/has been very ill and in and out of the hospital, and was reminded that I need to be extra thankful for such a wonderful blessing as health.
