Christmas Stuff

Some random Christmasy things we have been up to:

Wreath making: a sweet friend gave me a handmade grapevine wreath and I had fun decorating it up with foraged greens and pinecones my girls collected in the neighborhood and some Amazon ribbon! I watched a You Tube video to make the bow!

Kettle corn with chocolate drizzle: we have enjoyed the black and white drizzled kettle corn from Sam's in the past, but this year I decided to try and make it! We used this recipe and it was a great success!

Fudge: Thank you for your recipe suggestions for fudge! They were all essentially the same and we were successful in making fudge for the first time ever!

Handmade Gifting: I wanted to do something for a group of Bible Study ladies and wasn't feeling up to going out to get supplies so I thought about what I had and made sugared pecans and Christmas simmer jars just using things around the house! Holly was cut from our from yard as was the evergreen clippings. Such a satisfying feeling!

We also enjoyed a night at the drive-in movie seeing Polar Express! And watching Hallmark movies at home of course!

What Christmasy things have you been up to?

Yum! I would love the recipe for your simmer jars! All the ones I've found require things like star anise and fancy (expensive!) spices. Would love to know what you did!

Merry Christmas!

Hi Jen! Yes, my simmer jars were extremely simple! I used the ends of sliced oranges {the rest of the oranges were used for dried oranges but the ends don't dry nicely so I set them aside}, cinnamon sticks {found in a bag at the Dollar Tree!}, a few cranberries - I keep a bag of fresh cranberries in my freezer usually as I love evergreen and cranberries in a jar with a candle on Christmas Eve!, and a sprig or two of evergreen clipped from the front yard - super easy and very thrifty!
