Slowing Spring: Day 5

Welcome to our second week of Slowing Spring! I'm so enjoying these days in my own home and hope they are a blessing to you as well! It was gray and rained off and on today so we didn't get much time outside - but still enjoyed reading quietly! We listened to the birds the next morning and heard or saw the following: hawk, crow, cardinal, sparrow and woodpecker! We've also had our first hummingbirds of the season!

In the evening, a friend had offered to watch Emily, Rachel and Samuel as a thank you so David and I used a gift card to eat dinner out and then did some clothes shopping for him for work!

Scripture:
* 1 Peter 1:23-25, "For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring Word of God. For, 'All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever.'"

- Describe the differences {however simple or obvious they seem} between perishable seed and imperishable. Which side are you on?
- Think about the words living and enduring. Process what comes to mind when you read/hear/think about them.
- Right now, we see Creation renewing day by day as new life springs forth - but we know that this life will fade - yet we can find comfort and a firm foundation in the fact that God's Word will never fade. Ponder that thought as you begin your day!

Serve Gracefully:
Last week we looked for a way to serve our children, today think of a way you can serve your husband!

Slow:
Sit outside on a quilt or on your porch and read for a little while!

Cultivate Beauty:
Bird watch and listen: how many varieties can you identify from seeing them or hearing their song?
