Sunday Morning Picnic

When Daddy is out of town and breakfast is already made, it seems my creative urge just kicks in to things we might not normally do.

I would not normally think that a before-church picnic was a good idea for time/sanity! But when the opportunity presented itself, it turned out lovely and was very simple to do. My Mom had given me the charming gray polka dotted containers and the flowers were a gift also - I made Pioneer Woman coffee cake, which by the way is amazing {can you say butter!?}, and just cut up some berries to go with.

It is always amazing to me how yummy food eaten outside tastes - and how refreshing just thirty peaceful minutes on a quilt spread on the driveway can really be to my soul.

What a great way to start the day and on a sunday! (time and sanity) I bet it actually made the day go smoother.

Your comment about food tasting better reminds me of some of my favorite childhood books by Enid Blyton. In her books, when the kids are out on an adventure and eating out of doors, one of the girls always comments about how much better food tastes outside. The Ship of Adventure, and the Sea of Adventure are a couple of the books.

I do miss the simple little picnics I had when my kids were younger.

I love it. Your zinnia's are beautiful - already!! WOW!

Charming morning - breakfast picnic! It's amazing... this happens for us, too! When something is fun and or we do something different (out of the ordinary!) - everyone is in or gets into a happier mood - and we may actually get to church on or before time! It always amazes us. :)
