May Day

I used to be a faithful May Day flower deliverer. But, the last few years I've kind of fallen off the band wagon. Not intentionally, but I just haven't made it a priority. I thought this year would be the same until I saw this idea. I gathered some free and cheap supplies and we had fun making these with friends. Instead of the black beans {which I could forsee just being tossed out} we opted for a chocolate cupcake with chocolate frosting for the "dirt!" I looked and looked for better lollipops, but alas this was all to be had. At least they look like flowers!

We'll have fun delivering these today and try not to be spotted!

How cute, Monica! I was just telling my friends last night that my granddaughter usually takes out May baskets to hang on their neighbor's door. They had mentioned that today would be May Day and how they used to do that.
Glad you were able to do this again this year. Love you, Grandma

I immediately thought of styrofoam cups and possibly punching a hole in the side to thread ribbon. I'm certain your recipients are going to like the cupcakes more than black beans!
Over the years, have your neighbors figured out that you are the May Day delivery girl? In all of my life, I've never given or received a May Day basket.

This morning we were fondly remembering past May Days when we would find a surprise flower on our doorstep :) -- today we had SNOW instead (3+ inches and it's still coming down). I'd rather have the flowers...
Love you lots, Mom
