The Gift of Home

When a case of tired-Mama hits and I wind up with a fever and fighting a sore throat, the only thing I long to do is rest and stay home. My day is supposed to be full - homeschool, care for this home, feed my children, help with a yard sale set up, host friends for dinner, etc...

But, instead - I am handed a day of quiet, rest, peace ... home.

When a sweet friend calls to see if we can go to the daffodil farm with her, I admit that I'd love to but am not feeling well. But, then she asks if she can just come get my kids and is here before we know it and I am served this gift: quiet.

She also delivers my yard sale stuff and I am delivered another gift: rest, a clearing of my day. Tears sting the back of my eyes and I am so humbled that she would serve me so gracefully and beautifully.

God has seen my desire for more time at home and through an unconventional way, He has given me the desire of my heart for today. Home.

Our schedule has been busy and I have been seeking how to eliminate. The answers are not clear yet, but I have today. I have a precious gift of a day at home. Thank You, Lord, for nudging a dear friends heart to minister such grace and blessing to me. I am so grateful and am being restored in this gift of quiet and rest.

This warms my heart just reading these words. What a gift! I know what that feels like...and it is really special.

That is truly your friend putting love into action. Working it with her sleeves literally rolled up.

This is the very subject-line I've been thinking about lately. Love in action. (hospitatlity)

I hope you heal today - just by the peace you feel in your soul. :)
