Days of Beauty: Give

Last one for today - Gabby, God's Little Angel by Sheila Walsh. She is also the one who wrote the Gigi series. You can view the flip book here, coloring sheets here and see the video:

While I love the idea that we want to communicate to our children that God is always with us and that His angels are watching over us and our children - I'm not sure I love this book. Do I want my children to see angels as little cherub children that save them from falling? I just don't know how I feel about that.

Again, the illustrations are sweet and charming - very pleasant visually. And, I promise I'm not trying to be negative - just honest.

If you're interested in winning a copy of this book - please leave a comment on this post sharing how you communicate that God is always with us to your children. Comments will be open until Friday, October 21 at 10pm EST.

Disclosure: I received a copy of this book from Tommy Nelson to keep and review here. They are providing a second copy to one of you at their cost. All opinions are my own.

I simply tell my children God is always with us...that we can always pray and talk Him.

We communicate this by daily prayer. We also read from from the Bible and talk about His presence in our lives.

We don't have any children yet, but I agree with you...God is with us, all the time...now how do you explain that to children...I've heard it's kind of like the wind...we can't see it, but we can see the effects of it, and know it's because of the wind.

I know what you mean...I remind my kids of the scripture
1Samual 16:7..."for God does not see as man sees". We try to draw or picture the things of God as beautiful as our limited minds can, but when we get to heaven we will see what God sees and it will be more beautiful than anything ever imagined!!! I love the Gigi books - so cute - I will have to check this book out. :)

I alluded to this in the last one, but recently our little guy wanted a dump truck, excavator and a bulldozer for his sandbox. On the way to the library one day a gentleman was putting out a dump truck, and excavator and a crane. They hadn't sold at his rummage sale and he just wanted them gone...they are now in our son's sandbox. It was a great way to discuss how God hears little boy's wishes and how he will provide. Our little guy still tells people they are from his God! And is waiting on God to bring the bulldozer for next summer :)

God has really been working in our church in miraculous healing lately. So my husband and I have made it a point to always have one of our children with us when we're praying for people. Then we debrief with them afterwards about what they saw and experienced. I wish I would have had these experiences at 6 & 3 years old.
