Days of Beauty: Give

A Pumpkin Prayer is a delightful autumn book from Tommy Nelson Publishers. I was expecting something kind of like this that would allow me to walk through a project with my children while bringing home spiritual truths. But, this is really not that at all - it is a sweet prayer thanking God for different aspects of Fall.

You can view the flip book here!

The pictures are extremely charming and child friendly! Board book pages make this little hands friendly while the words are kept at their level as well. Emily grabbed this off of the counter and I've heard her reading it - but haven't seen it since!

If you would like to win a copy - please leave a comment below sharing how you celebrate this season with your children! Comments will be open until Friday, October 21 at 10pm EST.

Disclosure: I received a copy of this book from Tommy Nelson to keep and review here. They are providing a second copy to one of you at their cost. All opinions are my own.

Autumn is my favorite; so, we fill the house with fall decor, fill the outside of our home with pumpkins and mums galore! We started hiking for the first time this year, as our kiddos are finally able to walk it themselves and I carry their sister on my back, and take notice of all of the changing leaves. We also like to "find" autumn leaves as we drive through our neighborhood. My husband knows how I love autumn, because I'm from NC and it's beautiful there this time of year; so, as soon as he spots the first color in a tree, he takes me to go and see it...smile.

At Thanksgiving, we go around the table and take turns saying what we're thankful for. I've also heard of writing lists for each family member, saying what you're thankful for in each person.

I would love to win this book. Our family loves fall time its our favorite time of year. We always decorate for fall together and take our children to the pumpkin patch for a pumpkin. Then we make pumpkin pie for our Thanksgiving out of them.

My little one is still very young so we don't have a tradition yet - I'll have to discuss some ideas with my husband. I'd love to do something to just enjoy God's creations (maybe go for a hayride, apple cider, pumpkin patch, etc) and give thanks for everything.

My boys were so excited to put out the fall decorations and to create some new ones - we decorated picture frames to hold fall photos and they painted "jar-o-lanterns" from the October Family Fun.

Would love to win a copy!

As for the ways we celebrate around here. Well, honestly, one way is by reading books to match the season and we're talking about being grateful this particular year.

Also we make a point to have at least 3 fall dinner meals a week so that we're tasting the season -which is a lot of fun.

One thing I made this past week (that you might be interested in trying) is this:

Oh my! SO delicious!!!

Thanks for the contest & giveaway!

While my children are grown, I have a Granddaughter that would enjoy this book. We used to rake leaves and let the four of our children jump and play in them--let them experience fun with God's colorful creations.
Thank you for the giveaway!
Blessings,
Lisa

Apple picking! I couldn't believe how excited our 3 year old was to go again...he told people he'd waited all year to go pick "Pat's apples" and now tells people that he eats "Pat's apples" and such. Pat is the owner of the property that we pick apples on...pretty good memory on that boy!

My kids and I never pass up the opportunity to crunch through leaves that have gathered on the sidewalk. And we have enjoyed wathcing the squirrels begin to bury nuts in our yard.

We celebrate fall each year by having a huge fall party with our church family! We make hay tunnels, a bonfire, and have a hayride for the kids. Our celebration of fall wouldn't be complete without making a batch of apple butter and apple cider! This book sounds like a sweet book! Thanks!

Oh, I just realized that I was supposed to say how I celebrate this season with my children. We drink hot chocolate and hot tea, have school by the fireplace, jump in leaves, and we always carve at least one pumpkin and roast the seeds. Oh, and we usually pick apples at my uncle's house and spend days cooking with the apples, and prepping the rest for the freezer.

Feel free to delete my other comment since that would make two from me and be unfair for the giveaway :)

Fall is a favorite time at our house. This year we have been visiting farms, and thanking God for the bountiful harvest and also for the quiet time of winter.

We go to the apple orchard and pick about 12 different kinds of apples and bring them home for a taste test evening where we decide which is our favorites. Thanks for the giveaway! brian amy 10 at hotmail dot com

Oh, we've got autumn books stashed in every corner of the house it seems. I place a little child-sized chair next to my hope chest against a wall, and on top of the chest is another stack of autumn books and a giant wooden bowl full of the things we find on nature walks- leaves, acorns, twigs, berries... and rocks. :) My little guy loves rocks. Above the chest is a strand of twinkle lights that I sewed felt leaves of all colors to- we love to plug those in at dusk and it makes a lovely reading corner!

We also hold an autumn nature swap with several other homeschool families- so the children help me make ours and we receive a bunch of beautiful decorations in return!

Thanks for the opportunity to receive this book- it sounds wonderful!
