Camping Out

Our children remembered the great backyard camp out of 2010 and wanted to repeat this fun event again! We attempted to carry this desire out - but the rain came and came and came and it was really needed. We did get the tent set up and made s'mores! We also repeated the scavenger hunt breakfast inside instead of outside.

Here are a few fun pictures of our attempt at camping out ~ we'll try again another time!

Monica, I regularly read your blog, and although I do not personally know you or your family, I just had to stop and praise the Lord for you and them this morning. I had to thank the Lord for your godly parents who appear to have instilled a love for Him in their children, and continue to do so in their grandchildren. And for the love and devotion for family that I read about and see in your blog. It is an incredible encouragement to me! Yes, all this joy from a simple backyard camping experience. (-: I think it is from all that you shared from the time you have spent recently with your family - it has deeply touched me. Thank you for sharing.

Sorry it didn't work out. We are planning a backyard campout from Thursday. Not sure we will make it since we are under an excessie heat advisory and it doesn't look like it will be ending soon.

Camping in the backyard sounds like fun :) :) You're right, however, that rain is so needed, too :) :) Will you try again this summer to have another campout?

The photos are great..and that double rainbow :) :) Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

Don't you love the unpredictability of the summer? Looks like you guys were able to salvage the evening anyways. Looks fun!
