Creation's Classroom

We walked home on a new and exciting mission!
To pack up our school stuff and head back to the lake!
Excited chatter!
Ideas!
Exclaiming!

I asked the girls to head to the garden and find some flowers -
they were happy to oblige!

Meanwhile, I ransacked the pantry for little bits of things
and tossed them in a jar and stirred tart and sweet together to make some yummy lemonade.

Always one to grab an opportunity for beauty -
I gathered a cloth, tea kettle, cups, a garland for serendipity and books!

Snacks made a great teaching moment for patterns!

Little feet made contact with the flower jar several times -
then I admired the little feet and hands!

Samuel enjoyed his "coffee" - as he put it! Thinking of seeing my Dad drinking coffee!

These moments are sweet and heady - this is the stuff wonderful memories are made of.
I hope and pray - these are the things that make up a sweet and happy childhood.
This is the precious side of life.

A morning in Creation's classroom - it was wonderful!

Oh, to have a lovely lake within walking distance of your home.
When do you think more learning took place--
during your littles exploration of the lake and surrounding nature
OR
during the more formal instructional time??
I bet it is a close tie. So much to be learned from God's amazing creations.

Okay, Mom, pull out that grade book and give yourself a big gold star! What a wonderful way to educate your children... with creativity, patience, and love, love, love! This is a wonderful reminder to me to "eat up" every moment of these last four years remaining in our own homeschooling experience before my youngest graduates - all too soon! Thank you!

what a perfectly lovely spot for school! i remember when my daughter was young - we'd pack up her school books and such, heading for the park (her favorite place). at home, independent reading was best done up in the big front tree. she was a regular little monkey, effortlessly climbing to her favored place. :o)

she graduated 3 years ago. wish i could do it all over again. your pictures offered sweet memories. thank you.
