Have a great weekend...

No new post today! I feel like I've been meeting myself coming and going - and just can't get caught up!

I'm thinking this morning of this quote on refraining, this quote and this post on my words. Great thoughts for today -

Now, head over to my friend Melissa's and dig out your favorite party food recipe to enter her giveaway!

Enjoy your weekend -

The quote you referred to contains so much truth! As a mom to older teens, I now look back at their very young years with a bit of regret...we were involved in a larger church which seemed to hold those who were involved in every conceivable ministry with the highest esteem. For approx. 5 years, I was heavily involved in the nursery and young children's ministries. My husband was heavily
involved in an evangelism ministry. And who got the privilege of spending more time with my children - other church workers. VERY, VERY WRONG!! Toward the end of those 5 years I had a very heavy burden on my heart that was drawing me home, and my husband also began to see this and through a variety of other circumstances we left that church and became involved in a fellowship that focused on the family being together. I am so thankful that I was atleast able to partially redeem those young years with my children. Monica, I strongly encourage you to not let the pressures of the organized church crowd in on you, keep focusing on what God's Word says to you about your duties as wife and mom. Keep praying and following your husband's lead. You are doing a fine job!

"The season of young children is a time to refrain. Refrain from most outside activities, even church activities. Now is a time to be faithful in discipline...it's the springtime of mothering. Redeem the time, don't waste it." - Sono Harris

I know exactly how you feel. I am currently sitting on the back porch with my laptop. I decided that today is the day to rest and refresh. The craziness of housework, schooling and just life will be there tomorrow.

Hope you return refreshed and ready for a new week on Monday. Take care, my friend!

The first quote is so true (and from a beautiful blog, thanks for sharing that). The pull from outside is so strong. I would give anything to have those early days back. I still try to have a day or two a week where we are at home, together (one of those days is usually during the week when daughter is at school & hubby's at work and I need that). It doesn't always work but I try and I know that if I don't try if definitely won't happen but if I do there's a chance. :)

Have a great weekend!
