Free Bowling!

We took our girls bowling the other day to celebrate the 100th day of school! And, while we were there, we found out about a great program where your children can bowl free all summer!

Here's where you can find out about signing up your family. UPDATE: You have the OPTION of signing adults in your family up for $26 for the summer, but that is not required for the children to bowl free!

Next, I'm looking for some very inexpensive bowling shoes for our girls and myself so we can enjoy this free activity! If we have to rent bowling shoes every time, we won't be going!

So, if anyone has any bowling shoes around they'd like to sell for a reasonable amount please let me know! We are looking for children's size 9 and 10 and women's size 6.

Happy Bowling!

We signed up for this too, Monica. Unfortunately, I didn't consider renting shoes. I will be on the lookout for them too!

Glad you had fun! I checked the list, and there aren't any participating centers in the entire state of Iowa. Oh, well!

Did you sign up an adult? When I tried to register it said I had to pay $26-something for "up to 4 adults" to bowl for the summer dates. Still a good deal, but I am not prepared to pay $26 right now.

Cute photos! Hope you find some bowling shoes -- do you have Craigslist or Freecycle in your area? Love you, Mom

When we took the kids (and a few others) bowling last year, I am pretty sure Benjamin down just wore socks to bowl. It was simply because the bowling alley didn't have the size for them, but maybe this is a possibility?

Monica,

I did this free bowling program with my sons last summer and they loved it. In regard to shoes, the bowling alley we went to offered a reasonable one-time fee to rent shoes for the entire length of the bowling program. I figured it all out and it was definitely a deal - we went once a week and easily "made up our money" for the shoes. Ask at your bowling center to see if they offer a similar deal or if they would be willing to!

By the way, thanks for your blog ministry - it is a blessing to the me (and many others!).

What a fun activity to do with your littles!!! I hope you can find some shoes. What a great way to spend a summer afternoon -- in an air conditioned building having fun! :)

We did this this past summer. My mom found some shoes for herself at Sports Suthority for $30. We more than paid for them this year. We never did find my nephew any shoes that were worth the investment the way he grows.

Hi Monica~I've signed my kiddos up for this program as well. I'll keep an eye out for your kids sizes while I'm looking for ours. A friend of mine suggested looking at clearance ones on bowling websites, sometimes they are just a few dollars more than used ones ☺
