Donut Picnic

Since we didn't get to go to the beach for Family Night, I already had these lovely sunflowers and a couple of ideas for our picnic. So, I decided to do something special for breakfast on Saturday morning!

I laid out a blanket and decorated with sunflowers and a candle. The ladies and I ran to Wal-Mart quickly to get some donuts! I remember once in a while on a Saturday morning, my Dad would go get donuts at Dunkin' Donuts before we were awake and have them waiting when we got up!
This was a fun and different way to start our day!

What a special way to start the day! I know your little ones loved it. Samuel is so cute sitting on his "throne." :-)

The donuts look so yummy to me this morning! LOL!!!

They look so happy to enjoy a picnic inside! Our girls loved it when we had to clean our carpets and all the furniture was in the kitchen and on top of our table. Which resulted in throwing a tablecloth on the floor to enjoy dinner. That night they pictured we were in Hawaii. :)

Thanks for sharing...I have forgotten how simple it can be to have special, fun times likes this!

How fun Monica!!! It looks like the girls had a great time, how exciting for them and fun :)My Dad also used to get up early on Saturday mornings and hit the yard sales and come home with donuts before we awoke.

Have a great day!

Yes indeed it made for a very special day! Great mothering there! I remember when our kids were younger, we would have a backwards dinner - we ate dessert first!

There is one particular friend of my nineteen year old who son is always sending a hello to me, even though we have met him only a couple of times.

He tells my son he remembers how I went out and bought fresh donuts and had them waiting when the guys all woke up when they stayed at our house last summer.

It was such a little thing to do but I guess it shows we care. :)

Now this is MY kind of breakfast! I am going to make sure that my husband sees these pictures! Maybe they will give him some inspiration. I adore hot Krispy Kremes---we call them "Hot Nows", since the sign in the window usually says "Hot Now".

Man....now I want some Hot Nows!
