Family Night: Drive-In Movie at Home!

This week for Family Night, I cleaned everything out of the back of the car and moved the car seats to fold the middle seat down and make a nice big space! I covered it all with a quilt and lots of pillows and set up our portable DVD player to create a movie experience out in the car!

Now, I don't know about you - but our littles l-o-v-e to play in cars. They just can't get enough! So, this was a huge hit!!

I made a snack (popcorn, M&M's, Cheerios and marshmallows) and put them in these cute popcorn boxes that a sweet blog reader sent me! The girls picked out Finding Nemo and we headed out to the car!

We had fun and Emily asked if we could do it again sometime!

Have any of you been doing any fun family activities lately?

What great idea, Monica! :) Recently, we made palm leaves for Palm Sunday and read the Palm Sunday story as a family...the kids really enjoyed that...:)

Blessings!

Clever idea! Playing in the car is always a hit for Megan.

I haven't felt motivated lately, but really need to get in the swing of family fun nights.

Have a great day!

Isn't it nice that the simplest thingss make your kids happy? The snack looks yummy, and thanks to the reader for the boxes. I was going to ask where you got them.

What a fun idea!!! I'm beginning to teach our own "Sunday School" lesson on Sunday afternoons because we don't have Sunday school offered at our chapel. My girls love it!!

That is such a cute idea! Eating and watching shows in the car? I think my kids would go nuts because they love that kind of stuff. Thanks for the inspiration!

Looks like fun!
On Sunday evening, we walked and the kids rode their bikes to a restaurant in our town. We had to cross one main road, but there were sidewalks for the whole trek. It was so much fun getting there--looking at all of the trees, forsythias, and daffodils in bloom.

That sounds like a lot of fun!

We went to the Home Depot workshop on Saturday and picked up a birdhouse project. We put it together at home on Sunday and just painted it yesterday. It's got a see-through back and suction cups so we can hang it on our window outside and hopefully see the little birdies from inside the house. I hope they really do nest there!

I used to love going to the drive-in as a family when I was little, but you just don't find good ones anymore. What an awesome idea...my little ones (all five) will have a blast doing this!

What a fun idea! My kids love going to the drive in we usually park in front though so they can lay on a blanket in front of the car.

I love how Little Samuel is glued to that screen! I'm sure he'd request more Family Movie Nights if he could. :)

Again, I am left thinking....what a cool idea! I also loved your red carpet day. I know you have had a hard time sometimes with feeling like you're doing ok...but you really are, Monica. Those children are incredibly blessed to not only have a mom who is so creative and fun, but also one who cares enough to go through the trouble! HUGS!
