Rusty Robin: Behind the Scenes

Angie requested that I show what I find and how I make it into what I sell. So, I've taken some pictures to sort of walk through this process and show you what I found and what I made it into! This will give you a sneak peek into some of the items appearing in my next shop update (March 9th at noon EST) Enjoy!

Take one wooden spool:

one grungy Christmas candle:

a spool of ribbon and a Merry Christmas tag:

and work it all into a neat Christmas candle holder!

Take one candle holder with melted candle in it:

Clean out the candle and add grass and eggs, ribbon and Scripture for a cute spring trim:

Take one wall sconce:

Add decorative paper, ribbon and a cute bulb:

So creative! Such a satisfying feeling to make something new out of something old - these are very inspiring - they make me want to go and rousle through the shed...

What a blessing it must be for your husband to have such a resourceful wife. You amaze me!

Isn't that what God does with us--makes something beautiful out of something others might deem useless?

I just checked your Etsy shop and was thrilled to see Psalm 84:3 there. I just read that verse in my devotions yesterday. It resonated and filled me with so much joy and hope as a mommy!

I just peeked at your Etsy shop and I love the Easter garland! I made the names of Jesus garland (one for myself and one for a friend) at Christmas and my mom suggested making them for Easter, too. I might make some to sell at church and give profits to the church. Thanks for the inspiration!

Thank you for sharing this. I am going to a big stretch of yard sales next weekend. I am going to try to keep an eye out for what something can become rather than what it is. That is what God does with each of us so I am going to try to incorporate that into my daily life!
