Valentine Wreath

While I was lying around on the couch, I had this idea come to mind and my Mom helped by bringing the heart form and ribbon! I had it finished not too long after she unpacked it from her suitcase!

Supplies Needed:
1 - styrofoam heart shaped wreath form
2 inch strips of desired fabric
small straight pins
ribbon
scissors

Start by pinning the fabric behind the point of the top of the heart.

Pull fabric underneath to one side of the point.

Pull firmly across as in an L-shape.

Bring up on the other side of the point and continue wrapping around wreath. Repeat this when you get to the point at the bottom - though, you'll want to wrap around the point first and then do the L-shape wrap.

When each strip of fabric is finished, simply pin to the form. If it finishes on the front, pin the next piece over it onto the back and cover the pins.

Fold over a small "hem" on a piece of ribbon and pin at an angle on one side of the top of the heart. Repeat on the other side making sure they are as even as possible.

Knot two pieces together to hang at desired length.

Start a bow by folding one loop.

Fold next loop to the other side. Repeat for desired number of loops.

Lay on top of knot and use ends to attach bow to the knot.

Hang and enjoy!

Yay--since you told me about this last week, I got a form at HL over the weekend. It's the exact same size and style, even. I'll post a pic tomorrow--it turned out really cute. Thanks for the idea!

That is so cute!! I saw on another blog where they had taken strips of fabric and maybe ribbon and simply tied them onto whatever they used for the form. I recall doing something similar with a wire coat hanger bent into a circular shape. I will see if I can find it and copy and paste it onto another comment. It was a really cute idea and could be used for any holiday. I really like the heart form for V-Day. So festive!!
