Watch a movie?
Since Emily loves to watch movies and this is a great thing when we have a sitter (which we don't often), I realized that numerous times, they have had trouble figuring out how to operate our set up. So, after numerous difficulites with this - I came up with this idea. I took a picture of the remotes and inside the cabinet and cut apart the pictures to paste onto a sheet of cardstock. Then I wrote out directions and drew arrows so that it will be easier to figure out, I hope! Side note: when I was single, I invested in furniture! when David was single - electronics!

This made me laugh because we need to do a diagram like that over here. Our babysitters have no idea how to get our television going so they usually don't mess with it...hmmmmm...maybe that is a good thing? :)
I love this idea!
Monica,
I'm sure this will be helpful the next time I'm there and trying to figure out which remote turns on which component! Good idea! :)
Love, Mom
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'm one of your sitters.
Very clever! I need one of those for myself, actually ;0)
Brilliant! I need that at my house for myself :)
*grin*
Maybe I need to get dh to do this for us! I'm ok with the video, but I keep getting confused with everything eles!
A great idea! As an occasional sitter for my friend's kids, I would love it if they had something like this written up! I simply cannot remember how to even turn the TV on, let alone start a movie! Actually, I need this at my own house, too. LOL!!!
What a wonderful idea ~ I often joke with Mr. P that he needs to make ME A diagram like that so I know how to work all the controls we have in our home! LOL
I'm in the same situation-hubby invested in electronics-I invested in furniture! I would be happy with simply a tv/dvd combo and one remote...I wish he would make me a diagram like that, if I'm home alone it takes me forever to figure out how to watch a movie, sometimes I cant figure it out and end up forgetting it and doing something else!
This is such a good idea!
This is brilliant. I just finished making one thanks to your idea. We really needed one in my household as well!
I just found your blog. Loving it.
I love this idea.
