I decided to start a new family tradition for this summer - called, you guessed it, Ice Cream Sundays! Every Sunday, I will make an ice cream treat. My goals in doing this are to create family memories, have something fun to look forward to doing together, and enjoy a cool treat in the heat of the summer! I will post a recipe each Saturday in case you want to join in too! Then, on Monday, I'll move the post back to the top with a review on how we liked it. Please feel free to add your own thoughts too! Here's the one for this week:
Strawberry ShakesIn a blender, combine 1 pint strawberry ice cream, 1 cup frozen strawberries (4 ounces), and 1 cup milk; puree on high speed until smooth. Pour into four chilled glasses. Serve immediately, over ice, if desired. Serves 4.
Update: The shakes were a big hit and I made the extra into popsicles! We're looking forward to next week!

I just had a lovely bowl of strawberry ice cream!
Yumm!
I am working on a summer plan of things to do with the kids every day.
So many summers we become stagnant, not doing anything but puttering around the house.
We are getting ready to have a bowl of ice cream in a few minutes. I don't have a blender so we can't do shakes. That is an appliance I will have to put on my list to purchase.
Enjoy your new tradition!
