Popsicles

With my kids gone from home, I've been trying to work ahead on some things for when they return. One of those is currently making popsicles! Twice a day, I pull frozen goodness from the freezer and slide them out of molds and into ziploc bags awaiting children who will be looking for the refreshment of a frozen treat!

So far, I've made lemonade pops, chocolate fudge pops {below}, peach berry smoothie pops,  and orange cream pops. Next us is banana pudding pops - Samuel loves banana pudding!

I wanted to do juice and just freeze it in molds but one of their favorites is grape juice {the purple kind!} and I'm fearful of stains and white grape juice just doesn't taste the same. My molds are Tupperware similar to these.

After that I'm wondering about something cookies and cream? Herbal teas? What popsicles do your kids love? If you have tried and true recipes or ideas, please share!

Here's a recipe that my Mom made for us when we were kids and I still make for my kids!

Fudgesicles
1 box instant chocolate pudding
1 can evaporated milk
2 c. milk
2-3 Tbsp. sugar

Mix everything together and pour into popsicle molds to freeze! I like to pour the mix into a pitcher and keep it in the fridge. Twice a day {morning and evening} I will pull out molded popsicles and re-freeze the next batch.

What a sweet Mama you are! All the popsicles you mentioned sound great! Sometimes I pour leftover smoothie into popsicle molds and freeze.

Thanks for sharing these popsicle ideas! May I ask how you got the wooden stocks in them? Do you just add them after removing them from the molds, and if so, so they stay in? Thanks!

I love that you are on a popsicle mission! And Mom will be bringing extra molds. =)

@Cherry: the molds have an opening that a popsicle stick fits in on the lid, so I slide them in and let it freeze inside there and then remove! :)

Well that is neat! I just ordered some and can't wait to make your recipes for my crew!

I'm going to try the pudding popsicles. I loved the Jello Pudding Pops as a kid. Megan's favorite is plain orange juice frozen. I sometimes have trouble getting them to slide out of the mold.... any tips?

@Wendi: OJ is a good idea too! I usually warm them with my hands to loosen but running under some warm water would probably also do the trick? Maybe some molds are just harder to release than others too?! Happy summer!
