The Joy of Eating Outdoors

I love eating outside! Food tastes better, the atmosphere is just lovely and peaceful {at least in the places I choose to eat outside!} and it creates a lovely meal and memory.

After all the fresh air and activity there was a lot of: When is dinner? I'm hungry! Can I have a snack?

Planning our camping food has become an important part of our time away, we are big on tradition and meals are one way of carrying that out. I asked my family ahead of time what they wanted while we were camping and a few tried and true things always make the list: pancakes, chili, s'mores!

PS: look who discovered the coziness of the camping chair by the creek! He is so funny!

I love this cozy photo of Samuel when he had just gotten up one morning and wanted to help with breakfast!

Any good tips for making camping meals easier? Planning, food prep, storage, etc... Your photos and descriptions are lovely.

It does look wonderful. My family went camping every August at a campground in RI called Johnnycake. Meals were always the best, my favorite was always when my mom made a big pot of her American Chop Suey, which is called Chili Mac, Goulash or Johnny Manzetti depending on what part of the country you live in, and all the kids at the campground would join us. E only took our kids camping a few times, I wish we had done it more as it’s such an opportunity for families to spend time together.
