When God's Word Speaks

A theme in my life lately throughout all of the things I am hearing is the importance of God's Word. Of course we all know the value and importance of reading and studying His Word, right? But so often we clutter our time in this Word with other voices and opinions.

I appreciate the repeated reminders that God's Word is so valuable and important and really should garner our full attention. Yes, there is a place for reading spiritual growth and life books but most of our time should be spent straight in the Scripture, right?

Add this to the fact that I love missionary stories - real life accounts of the manifestation of how God's Word is living and active. And I love for my children to hear and read these kinds of stories. Enter: When God's Word Speaks.

This book is a visually beautiful compilation of stories that kicks off a year long celebration of Wycliffe Bible Translators 75th Anniversary! I happen to love Christian organizations and ministries and appreciate the value of God's faithfulness over the past 75 years.

Each page has a beautifully lettered Scripture over a visually beautiful photo with the story on the facing page. These would make lovely art prints when you've finished reading the book - hang these truths around your home for reminders straight from the Bible.

I've enjoyed reading the book already and am eager to share it with my children. Unlike other missionary stories we read which happened decades or even centuries ago - these stories are from more recent years.

And, I get to give away a copy here to one of you! Anyone can use the code HOMESPUN25 at checkout to receive 25% off your own copy here.

To enter the giveaway, leave a comment here or on Instagram telling me something you appreciate about God's Word in your own life! Entries will be accepted until Tuesday, November 22 at midnight and a winner will be announced.

Fine print: I received a copy of this book at no charge in exchange for sharing it with you. All opinions and thoughts are my own.

UPDATE: @staceysmith1112 was tagged on Instagram and won! Congrats! Thanks to all and remember you can get 25% off your own copy with code: HOMESPUN25. Comments are now closed on this post.

I am still new to reading the Bible (about 9 years now). I love how it all comes to life and there is always something new. Reading the Bible has changed my life and I hope I'm passing it onto my children.

God's Word is like a mirror to me--reflecting back what I need to hear and allow to sink in. I appreciate when we look at the derivations of the original text, we see even more fully the steadfast love of our Father.

I can't imagine where I would be without God and his Word leading, guiding, encouraging, and challenging me each day! The Bible grounds me and keeps my focus where it should be. (:

My Bible is the way God has revealed Himself to me! I'm so grateful to know His mind because He has filled up a book full of His thoughts. The only way we can hope to be like Him is to know the way He thinks, what He values, and how I am to relate to Him.

God's word gives us power to pray, it discovers sin and convicts us. The bible instructs us in what to do, it makes our lives fruitful. It provides a sword for victory over sin. The Bible gives us hope, and strength. We can know who God is by His word. Thank you for the give away.
