Celebrating Ten: Cozy Cabin Birthday!

Rachel just turned ten and we had fun keeping our tradition of doing a mother/daughter get away for her 10th birthday! You can visit Emily's b'day weekend here, here, here, here, here, here and here.

I wanted to do something different with Rachel and she likes to be in on the planning process - so we picked out an adorable little cabin together! With Emily, we were in a city and there was lots to do, but this time we were out in the woods so we made our stop to get ears pierced on the way there.

First stop was the mall in Charlotte, NC where we had lunch, got ears pierced and then had a cake pop!

After our fun stop, we finished our drive to this adorable cabin:

Isn't that just so charming?! And adorable?! Yes, it was all of that!

Our first order of business was to explore the cabin and ooh and ahh over every nook and cranny. We quickly settled in and had quiche that I'd made at home and salad for dinner with a movie. After dinner, we enjoyed the cozy porch and a game of Uno plus a short walk through the woods to some beautiful scenery!

I must ask - how did you find such a lovely cabin to stay in? I'd love to do something like this before school starts or in the fall but I'm not sure what site to use to book!
