It is a lovely and cooler evening one night recently when David had to work at night - and I invited some young ladies over for dinner, talking and crafting! I wanted to make it special and pretty and instantly knew that the Jane Austen theme I'd pinned would be perfect!
The tablecloth I made around Thanksgiving out of canvas drop cloth leftover from my slip covering project was the perfect base to our table. I got out my china dishes and put a silhouette on top and then laid a clear plastic plate over the top.
Candle holders from the thrift store and beeswax candles added elegance and charm! And, blue hydrangeas from my garden - need I say more about them!? I poked holes in the top of zinc canning jar lids and added cute straws for drinking glasses and made the garland and mini Jane Austen books shown here.
What a charming evening with delicious food, lovely company and crafting!
We agreed we can't wait to do it again!!

A lovely evening, indeed. It was all so elegant. You didn't mention the cameo appliques on the mason jars. All such perfect touches.
It looks like you were being a Titus 2 woman mentoring some lovely young ladies.
How very creative and GORGEOUS, Monica. Lovely evening, I'm sure.
