Psalm 71:8 (The Message), "Just as each day brims with your beauty,
my mouth brims with praise."
my mouth brims with praise."
We've laid a groundwork to get to what is coming for today and tomorrow! An overflow of all the beauty we've invested in hearts and homes is now ready to pour forth and bless others!
Today, perhaps you'd be willing to share your home with someone else by inviting a friend in? Or, having a tea party waiting for your children when they come home from school?
Think creatively in how you can share your home and beauty today! Lift the load of another and bring encouragement!
Here is a glimpse of our day!
I had a little one wake me at 4am - fortunately I was able to get that one back to sleep. But, I was not able to get back to sleep - so I saw it as a gift from God for some good time with Him.
I read Proverbs 29 and several things jumped out at me in relation to mothering which were a challenge and blessing:
We had a good day today! We began the day simply with cereal and AWANA verses! Usual morning chores and baths were next. Plus laundry and yes, I got out my Fall decorations - hooray!
This little guy had a great time making a "car-porter" (or in this case - perhaps a "train-porter?) out of his fire truck. I loved that a freight car was filled with Cheerios ... sweet. I also found cars in my slippers the other day and it made me smile. Signs of little life ~
Today, I really started noticing the benefits of my focused energy on our home this week. And, guess what? I did not go a.n.y.w.h.e.r.e. today - pure heaven. Thanks to David and my friend Heather for getting Emily to and from ballet!
I made cookies and invited friends in for a Blessings Gathering co-hosted with a friend who sells Thirty-One. It was great! Children were welcome and enjoyed playing, there was sweet conversation in and through our home, and yes - there was beauty!!
Now, it is night and the lamps are cozy. I have been reminded this week of how much I love this home and how thankful I am for it. How well it fits and suits our family and what a blessing it is to us - Thank You, Lord!

How did you share beauty today?

More great photos! :) Because I'm working full-time, I'm gone from home so much that when I'm home in the evenings and on weekends, I try to focus on spending time with Dad. So the beauty in our home is mostly for our own benefit right now, though occasionally we have others to share with. I have always loved creating a haven at home and love seeing you and Carrie do the same. :) Love you! Mom
I love the golden light of fall evenings.
It is indeed so heart-warming to find signs of the little minds at work around our home. My daughter has been squirreling items out of the recycling container for constructing doll house furniture.
I'm planning to host a 31 party. From your experience in hosting home parties, what type(s)of food and how much of a spread is appropriate?
I too love the glow of a small light casting its glow in a room as I enter. I love the smell of candles burning. And as for sharing, I just got some new card making supplies and so I am looking forwarded to makeing some cards - and I'm looking for ideas as well.
I love that you encourage us to share beauty with others. Great post. (And we have that same pumpkin potpourri. I absolutely love it!)
Your gathering sounds like fun! I especially like that the children were invitied.
Enjoy your day!
Monica,
I love all your beautiful fall decorations and your littles are just precious.
I posted today as well and thank you again for hosting this. LOVING spend time working on my heart and home.
Have a Blessed day,
Dawn
I love your photos, Monica! Those Cheerios in the freight car made me tear up for some reason...maybe because my life is full of finding little things like that in freight cars around here. I, too, find trains and trucks in my shoes. It's Thanks for the reminder that these are precious signs of "little life." I loved that.
Your posts really make me stop and think about being intentional about showing love to my family by doing things for them. Thank you so much! I've been stopping by here daily for years--to get big doses of encouragement.
I have been following along and doing making your Home a Haven. I have been so encouraged and inspired. Your posts made me pull out my fall decor and put throws on my couches, make slipcovers for my throw pillows, and embellish some curtains to match the decor! Yes, I just had to my my new beauty today, so I hosted a small aternoon tea and invited my neighbors while my two little boys were napping! Thank you sooo much for being such an inspiration!
Fall is such a beautiful time of year :) And your fall decorations are just lovely!
