I loved anything about Winnie the Pooh.

Well, it's a little bit of an older children book, but I can't live without the "Little House" series. Laura Ingalls Wilder is an inspiration!

I have too many favorite children's books. My favorite authors are A.A. Milne, Laura Ingalls Wilder, and Margaret Wise Brown. We have several of Brown's books, but not this one. She always has such a calming tone in her books.

I can distinctly remember a book about 2 neighbor boys who could jump from one of their porches to the other to play with one another. I can see in my mind their sandbox, kitchens, etc. But I have yet to find that book again since I can't remember the title...

I had to find a copy of Mike Mulligan's Steam Shovel when I was pregnant with my oldest. It's a charming story about how friends aren't disposable. My son loves it too, especially the page that goes: "Crash, slam, bang, blam, louder and louder, faster and faster!"

Our favorite book when my boys were younger was called Freight Train. An idea that someone shared with me was to buy an extra copy of a couple of your children's favorite books when they are little to put away for their children when they are born. Sweet.

My favorite childhood book was Goodnight Moon. I remember my Daddy reading it to me over and over. I loved the illustrations. When I was pregnant with my daughter, my dad gave me a brand new copy for her, in which he wrote a sweet note. Very special, for certain!

My favorite book was "Katie and the Big Snow." It was a story about a big snowplow that tried to clear the streets of Geoppolis. One of my favorite memories is of my grandmother reading it to me when I was a little girl.

I think one of my favorite books was the Richard Scarry book. It's a well-worn book at our house now too! I'm sure my mom read it to me 100's of times, asking me to find things on the pages!

Thanks for all these give-aways!

One of my most-treasured favorites was/is The Ordinary Princess by M.M. Kaye. I wound up sharing with my 6th graders when we did a fairy/folktale theme, and they all loved it, including the boys. It was out of print for years, but it's back in print now. :-)
