Farm Chicks Christmas!

I was nearly giddy the day this arrived in my mailbox - it was a complete surprise and the day of my Harvest party found me relaxing after the party by looking at this wonderful book!

My girls grabbed it out of my hands and wanted to look at it - oohing and ahhing over all kinds of beauty inside! Loving Christmas in this house must run in the family!

I've shared before about loving the Farm Chicks style and cookbook! This book certainly did not disappoint - it is inspiring and full of all kinds of wonderful Christmas eye candy that will set your creative juices to flowing about how to cultivate the wonder of Christmas around you!

After my first glimpses at the book, I was running to the kitchen for my ruler to make a star out of it as shown in one of the trees! And, asking David if we could put our tree in a galvanized tub next year? (He said yes!)

One of my very favorite pages in the entire book is opposite the Contents page and shows all kinds of wonderful supplies for creating:

And, this inspired me to do something similar for our Christmas this year. Once again, we will be traveling to Colorado and renting a house in the mountains to spend family time together over Christmas. I remembered last time wanting to get crafty and having to be super creative since I didn't have a lot to work with.

So, I thought it would be fun to come up with a Cozy Christmas Kit that travels with me! It would house supplies that I could use in lots of different situations to help my creativity that always wants to express itself around holidays!

I had this cute little suitcase that used to be my great-grandmothers and I loaded it up with all sorts of goodies that I scrounged from around my home. I did not buy a single thing just for this - all of these things were already in my stash.

Wow! If that isn't enough to put me in the Christmas spirit!!! Serena is hosting a virtual book signing today which coincides with her book signing at Chaps. If you order your book before 1pm (PST) today, it will be signed by all the friends at the book signing! Plus, check out this great Christmas giveaway Serena is hosting!

I hope you will get a chance to look at this wonderfully inspiring, beautifully photographed and magical book! Thank you, Serena, for the book and all of your creative ideas!

I've been struggling to "think" of Christmas Decorating - already.

You've certainly earned a spot in the "get inspired" category. Thank you.

I remember your cabin post and your Christmas decorating ideas. So pretty. Granulated sugar... and candles...

What a cute Cozy Christmas Kit! I'm sure Memee would be tickled to know how you are using her vintage suitcase! :) I'm looking forward to seeing how you transform some of those supplies into special decorations around our Christmas House. :) Love you, Mom

P.S. The contents are mostly red because I'll have access to natures wonderful greens right outside!

Hi Monica! I'm so glad you liked my supply drawer! I'm going to wear one of those fun old Christmas corsages today, that are shown in the drawer. They belonged to my dear friend Celeste's grandma.
Thanks so much for joining in the party!
Love,
Serena

How wonderful! I love little blessings like that. As you create, please post pictures. Your blog always inspires me, too! Have a wonderful weekend, from way up north in PA.

Oh how incredibly exciting! Christmas in Colorado... isn't it absolutely divine! I lived in Denver for a 8 years and then spent Christmas there with my Mom for 10 years. I miss those days... maybe we can have a family reunion there one year! :) Now you are giving me ideas... :)

and the book... I've been contemplating it for a bit and this pushed me right over the edge. Thank you! (oh I'm so excited and have begun to plan already this year!!)

Love the looks of that book. I checked it out on Amazon. Can you tell me how many pages/projects are included? I'm wondering if it is worth me buying it. Are they mostly sewing, paper, cooking, crafts or a mix of all?
I think the inside of your cozy Christmas suitcase should be featured inside the book! I thought I was doing well by simply bringing a Martha kit on my vacation. But you have the makings for all sorts of creating when you open that lid!

How neat.

Wow, what a stash. You need to share how to get a stash started. I walways want to create but I never have supplies. I don't do much but would like to start to add little touches of beauty to things.

I love your Cozy Christmas Kit--made even more special by using your grandmother's case. I'll be home for Christmas but I'm still making a kit...a case of craft supplies for on-the-go-fun. I love your creativity!
