Monday, my Dad ran another marathon in Colorado Springs! Yeah, Dad!
Since my girls are always asking if they can go and watch him, I thought it would be fun to have a mini marathon in the backyard!

We had our mini race at 8:30 since my Dad's race started at 6:30 (mtn. time) ~ I made number bibs for each runner and off they went! They really did not do much running, but hopefully had fun.

After crossing the finish line - they each received a medal (made out of juice can tops) for finishing! We cheered for our runner many miles away!
The "can" reference on the medal is from
this powerful video!

Awwww...hehe, that is just too sweet! So cute!
Your dad is amazing with all the marathons he runs in! WOW!
I cry everytime I watch that. Such an inspiration!
Looks like your littles had a fun time!
How cute! I didn't realize Samuel was walking now...or running.
How great that your dad ran another marathon. That's wonderful. If he reads your blog, I am sure he will just melt when he sees your littles running their mini marathon.
You are so cute, Monica!! Always finding ways to make a little fun.
Elise
THANKS FOR YOUR ENCOURAGEMENT ACROSS THE (S)MILES :)
HUGS TO EVERYONE.
THANK YOU JESUS,
DAD
Monica-
This post touched me on so many levels:
The activities you plan for your family are so much fun, yet so intentional.
I watched the video and flet uplifted. My son has to do a current events report and I'm wondering if that would qualify. Such a bright spot in a sometimes bleak world.
Lastly, I've been making Chrstmas tree ornaments out of postcards and some glass circle-shaped ornaments I got on clearance(19c) I am almost out of them, but just realized I can use juice can lids instead. I buy frozen juice concentrate. Is that where you got those lids or from glass jars?
Go Dad! Your kids are so cute. Samuel is getting so big and is a cutie-pie!
Thanks for linking to that video. I had never seen it before. Brought tears to our eyes...what a story!
So thoughtful and creative. Boy, Samuel is so very big now!
That is the cutest idea! :) I added you to my blog list. Feel free to stop by. :)
Another great idea! Dad loved knowing that your littles were participating in their own running event on the same day he was. :) Thanks for sharing these photos and including the link to the amazing story of a special father/son team. Love you, Mom
That video makes me sob. I remember seeing it at WVC.
Love you!
Cute idea!
