Friday morning, it was one of those mornings where I was just in the mood to do some nesting. It had been a bit cooler over the previous few days and while I usually wait all the way until Labor Day (hee hee) to get my Fall decorations out - I decided that it would be that morning!
When I pulled out my boxes of Fall goodies - I tried to look at them with an open mind. Not just thinking of where I put something last year. I started in our
entry way (here is a picture of what it usually looks like) remembering how fun it was to completely re-work the top of that cabinet at Christmas last year. Here is what I came up with:

Next, I got out the
glittered pumpkins for the top of our china cabinet and started working on the mantle. I like to add a new thing or two every year and I have my eye out for a few things especially as I head to Colorado in a couple of weeks.
Also, I had a very simple
grapevine wreath for our front door - but this year it just looked a little bare to me - so I pulled this Happy Harvest basket out and tied it onto the wreath ~ much better!

Have you brought your Fall goodies out yet? Do you put your decorations in the same place every year or mix it up each year?

I haven't yet, but I can't wait!! The sparkled pumpkins bring very sweet memories!! Hmmm maybe I will work on getting mine out this week. I have a whole new place to decorate this year so that will make it interesting!
I am patiently (ha!) waiting for my hubby to bring up the fall stuff. I hope to have most of it complete by the beginning of next week. I like to try and mix it up a little each year.
I really like what you did to the grapevine wreath!
It looks so homey I love it
I love your orange pitcher! And your wreath turned out great with the new addition :) I got my fall stuff out the last week of August! Every year I do a "fall tree" but I'm still working on that :)
Fall decorating is my favorite! I would love to do it on September 1st, but it's a bit too early for hubby, so I wait a few weeks. I change it up a bit each year. I keep my eyes open for clearanced items so that I can add one or two new items each year. I haven't had my grapevine wreath out for a few years, but you just gave me an idea!
Monica,
I'm in the middle of a move so I have put everything off. I do try to mix things up a little bit.

LOVE your Fall touches!! I am still working on getting the rest of my stuff out.
I don't think I totally do the same thing each year, however, I do have a large door panel painting that pretty much goes on my mantle every Fall.

I haven't yet, but am feeling the itch! Your wreath is just beautiful Monica!
This year I actually succeeded to wait until September! *lol* (Usually I start to get 'the bug' at the end of August..)
I had to put things differently, since we moved around our furniture (and cut out some pieces).. I've only bought one big pumpkin this year, we had two that actually SURVIVED a whole year.. I bought those last august, and they're still looking great.. would you believe that?
Greetings from the netherlands!
Love the look of your home. So warm and inviting. I've been combining fall cleaning with decorating. I am trying to reuse what I have and not buy anything... Makes me think outside the box.
Yes, I put out my fall decorations this past weekend...the kids helped me! Especially Annie was so excited and she ran to put them where I had them last year...so I'll keep them there for now as the tradition seem to mean something to her...I have a pretty fall colored towel that I use as a center piece for the table with a pumpkin basket, fall felt pillows, a fall door greeting, a fall scarecrow for the counter, & a little set of pilgrims & an Indian with faux leaves for my windowsill...it's fun! I haven't picked up anything new lately, but I love to look at our orchard store because sometimes they have neat things...:)
Fun topic! :) I HEART fall! :)
Yup! Pulled out our fall stuff over the weekend. I LOVE fall. It's so cheery and I look forward to seeing pumpkins and apples all over the place. Everything about fall is so invigorating somehow.
Thank you for showing off your decor. It is fun to see!
Monica, your home is absolutely beautiful, and you are truly blessed with a knack for making things beautiful! I love your blog! Alexis
I pulled what fall decorations I have out on Monday (Labor Day) and that is as far as I got. I love fall - my most favorite season. But, I will tend to decorate more for Christmas. With recently moving - I guess this will be an interesting year to figure out where things are "to go". I usually opt for the setting up decor in the same places, year to year. If it works, why change it (too much)? I think my little ones will do that enough for me. ;) You all know how it is...
Beautiful Monica,
I can always count on you for some sort of crafty/decorative inspiration! Thanks for sharing.
BTW, I did get a potato crop....I have a post with pics scheduled to post on my blog for Sat...didn't want to do one on the 11th.
Your wreath looks awesome! And love all your other sweet decorations.
Looks great Monica! I put my stuff in different places every year. I usually put on some great music and go to town (sometimes late at night after the kids go to bed). I rearrange my stuff pretty often to keep it fresh, so it's fun figuring out where to put what each year. Definitely keeps it from getting boring! I'm always encouraged by your blog, keep up the good work!
I SO love fall and can't wait to get out my fall decorations...I am making myself wait another 2 weeks...I will probably put them in the same place since it is only our 2nd fall here and I only have a few things, most of mine are in Japan.
I've put my fall stuff out on Monday. I try not to get stuck in a rut about where I put them. I just love fall and the "fall-y" smell when I walk in the front door.
Hope you have a blessed day!
