Christmas Gift: Neighbors

I loved this idea I saw in the December Country Living - cookie dough wrapped up in waxed paper! It is ready to pop in the freezer and be used whenever the recipient chooses. Often at this time of year we can end up with too many baked goodies - so I liked this idea because it can be saved for another time when they need and would enjoy it so much more.

Each roll of dough is 1/2 batch of the following recipe which is included under the wrapper.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 c. butter, softened
¾ c. granulated sugar
¾ c. brown sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 ½ c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. chocolate chips

Mix all ingredients together and bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes. Yield: about 6 dozen.

I'm definitely adding this to my gift idea list.

What a great gift idea. Simple, inexpensive and very practical... something I would love to have

This would be so great to have whenever you get that last minute call that someone is stopping by for a visit.

I hope my neighbors enjoy these as much as all of you sweet ladies - wish I could deliver one to each of you! :)

Christy - you made me smile, that is cute!

Debbie - great thought on having this on hand for someone stopping by!

That got me thinking - you could keep one or two in your freezer to give out whenever the moment arises! They could easily be wrapped in non-Christmas paper!

This is a _much_ more space efficient idea!

I've put biscuit (cookie—I'm Australian!) dough out on trays to freeze, then put the uncooked biscuits in an icecream container to have on hand or give away (good baby shower gift, in preparation for lots of visitors!), but this has a much more aesthetic appeal:-)
