Works For Me!

Isn't it so easy to just focus on the things we wish were different or that we could complain about? Here is what Works For Me on helping me to stay content with the way things are:

Thankfulness Journal:

Each night right before bed, I write down five things from that day that I am thankful for. It can be little things or big things. Sometimes it is hard to think of five things - and sometimes I can easily come up with lots more. This focus on being thankful helps me to keep my focus and attitude right.

In the front of the book, I wrote out these verses...

I Chronicles 29:10-13,
"David praised the Lord in the presence of the whole assembly saying, 'Praise be to You, O Lord, God of our father Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is Yours. Yours, O Lord, is the Kingdom; You are exalted as head over all. Wealth and honor come from You; You are the ruler of all things. In Your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all. Now, our God, we give You thanks, and praise Your glorious Name.'"

Great idea, Monica. Sounds like a wonderful "attitude adjuster" and "perspective improver"!

This is an excellent idea!

My husband and I always take time to thank God when we pray before bed, but it would be nice to have a record of it to go back and read when maybe things aren't going as well as you had hoped!

So far this morning I am very thankful that:
1. My 14mnth daughter slept until 7:00AM - 12 hours!!!!!
2. The plumeria out back that I started from a cutting is blooming! This is my second attempt -- don't ask about the first one as there is a reason I am trying again.....
3. I have a delicious cup of coffee.

That's nice. I actually go back and forth on keeping a prayer journal or not, but whenever I am, I include Thanks. It might be time to go back to it.
