Catching Up

These jets flying closely together seem an appropriate indicator of how life has been lately - managing multiple things closely where a collision could happen at any moment, life things flying by faster than I can keep up and yet awe and wonder at how they are able to fly with such precision.

A Sunday afternoon found us at the local high school football stadium where we had the entire place to ourselves, avoided crowds and still got a great view of the air show in our area. The Blue Angels always impress with their flight skills and this was no different.

I'm not even sure where to begin here - how about a bit of a recap of what's been going on here lately. Consider these exhibits for why I've been absent! Ha!

In the past two weeks:
- Emily completed a Mock Trial with her CC class - what a great experience for those students!
- Samuel has had soccer games
- standardized testing for all three kids
- physicals for the girls
- orthodontist appointments - thanks Mom!
- finished our school year!
- went strawberry picking and for a hike at the beach
- hosted CC Practicum in our area
- celebrated my birthday
- girls had dress rehearsals and recital
- David's mom and her husband came for a visit
- girls choir sang at church followed by lunch and an outing
- put together May Day baskets and delivered
- we were rear-ended and had our car in the repair shop for a few days

I'm probably forgetting things and of course there are the daily things like laundry and food and basics! Bets are on that some of you have had similar things lately with end of school programs, end of season things and more.

While I'm catching up at home, my Mom and all of our kids are on a road trip together! I know they will create such fun new memories this summer!

Now, I'm ready for some Slow Summer how about you?!

Wow! Your mom is roadtripping with the kids? What fun! I'm so glad she has you all and Carrie's family to keep her busy.

Yes! Seven more days of school here. I love my job (3rd grade teacher), but I am pooped and ready to rest, recharge, and spend time with my family.
