Free Woodland Baby Decor
I was invited to a friends baby shower this past weekend and she has an adorable woodland theme for her nursery! After looking at her registry, I decided to see if I could make something using what I had on hand as a gift and this mobile is what I came up with!
The top is half of an embroidery hoop - I must've used the other half for something else as this one was already left solo which made it a perfect use for this project. I wrapped the hoop with fabric to start.
Then I just sort of scrounged around for things that fit both the theme and a boy color scheme. David gave me the little bitty trees from his landscape collection, the pine cone is from outside, the pompoms are from a pair of socks I had and these came unattached in the wash and the metal tree was in my crafty items.
I printed out a template of a bear and made a tiny stuffed bear to attach. Then I chose verses that either suited baby/child or the outdoor theme.
Verses were:
Matthew 19:14, "Let the little children come to Me..."
Psalm 96:12, "...all the trees of the forest will sing for joy..."
Isaiah 61:3, "They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor."
Isaiah 35:1, "... the wilderness will rejoice and blossom..."
Psalm 36:6, "Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains..."
Luke 2:52, "And the child grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man..."
Psalm 4:8, "I will lie down and sleep in peace..."
I was so pleased to be able to give a sweet and meaningful gift that still fit her theme and my budget!!
