It has been a while since I did a post like this - and I miss them!
Last weekend I tried making homemade cider donuts from a recipe in Southern Living:: fail. Well I guess not a complete fail, just not what I was hoping for. Sticky dough that was hard to work with, great flavor but not great texture. A lot of work for not great results. Bummer.
We ate them anyway and enjoyed the cool air Saturday morning on our screened porch!
I made this pumpkin pecan cobbler for some sweet CC mamas and we all declared it a great success! Must serve warm with ice cream!!!
The girls were playing Native Americans and came up with their own tent creations. Emily's involved the bath tub and shower curtain and then she wanted to sleep in there!!
And I branched out recently and bought a new pair of earrings {hooray for half price!} This is huge for me because I have worn the same tiny pearl earrings for oh, about twenty years! I still wear my pearls most days but these have been a fun change here and there.
They are from Noonday and I'm hosting a party tonight! Locals come on over and everyone else, you are welcome to join the party online!
I'm finishing up a quilt for Samuel for Christmas - shhhh! Can't wait!
What are you up to this weekend?

I look forward to your party when it's rescheduled. I had to cancel earlier because I was supposed to work tonight at my third job. I have bookmarked that recipe. I adore all things pumpkin
We plan to go on on a Fall Picnic. Inspired by you of course. *Smiles* I made my banner you shared for Slow Down last night and I'm excited to decorate with it.
Hi Monica ~ I placed an order for your party :) I'm still awaiting my package...it was scheduled to come yesterday BUT I made a mistake and had you mail it to my old address. We moved across the state about 3 months ago and I hadn't switched my address yet. It should be here in the next couple of days though, yay! Be safe! You and your family have been in my prayers.
Yay for you posting about a recipe that was a fail. Life isn't perfect, and we take the good with the not so good, lol! It is rather disappointing when a recipe we work hard at is a fail, but you made the best of it, and that is what is important! So sweet to see your kids making tents, ours loved to do the same... they grow up so fast! Mine are in college now, and I can't even believe it! Enjoy every moment - I know you are {smiles} Love your new earrings, and hope that you are staying safe out of the path of the hurricane :) Hugs to you today!
