This & That: A Fall Weekend

It's the season of getting back into routines and having things pop back up on our calendar. We have been continuing to stay home a lot and keep as much slow in our lives as possible!

We enjoyed Samuel's first flag football game of the season - here he is with Coach Dad and a fun treat for his first game day!

From the Football field, I enjoyed watching the morning sky - sun rays peeking through always make me think of heaven!

Speaking of the sky - this gorgeous evening sky caught me by surprise one evening this past week. I was reading or working on something and all of a sudden noticed there was a pink glow coming from outside. So gorgeous. Do you see the rainbow?

After the game, we poked around a junky second hand store that I've been wanting to try out. I bought this great antique dresser for Samuel's room for $35! His little dresser was just too small and this is a great addition to his room. This prompted a big afternoon room organization session but I'm so happy with how it all turned out! We put his old dresser in his closet for additional toy storage/organization and shifted things around a bit.

Emily made these pumpkin pie energy bites for her CC class snack - they were so tasty! And included the yummy tastes of Fall too!

We started by looking at several recipes from Pinterest and adjusted for our ingredients. Here is what we did:

1 3/4 c. quick oats
1/4 c. flour
2 Tbsp. sucanat
1 Tbsp. pumpkin pie spice
1/2 c. pumpkin puree
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 c. peanut or cookie butter {we used cookie butter}
1/4 c. agave, honey or maple syrup {we used agave}
1 Tbsp. mini choc chips

Combine all ingredients except choc chips in mixer stirring the choc chips in at the very end. Use a cookie scoop to form balls and refrigerate or freeze. Made about 15 bites.

I also made a sort-of apple pie. It is my favorite apple pie recipe just made with no crust this time. We had this Sunday night and watched a Christmas movie!

Fall touches have been popping up here and there in our home and jewel tones are just really catching my eye this year! Looking forward to adding some deeper colors of Fall to our home. This view right here though is from my favorite seat in the house and makes me smile every time I look that way! Happy Harvest sign is from Hobby Lobby this year.

Have you added any Fall to your home, schedule or cooking yet?

I've been adding gourds and pumpkins and I'm looking for a good price on mums:) Love the pictures Monica. I printed out your pie recipe and look forward to trying it. Your Hobby Lobby sign is cute. We just got a Hobby Lobby in Exton, PA and I really look forward to going in one day.

Samuel seems to be going through a growing spurt & is so handsome! I love his room, the colors and all.
I got all of my Fall decorations out last week. Needing some mums outside. The ones I planted last year are not healthy looking. But, yep, I'm ready for Fall!
