Truth Telling 1: Life is from God.
Genesis 2:7, "...the Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being."
God's chosen people set an example for us in praising God as the author and sustainer of all living things, "You alone are the Lord. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you." Nehemiah 9:6
Job affirms that God is the one who gives life, "You gave me life and showed me kindness, and in your providence watched over my spirit." Job 10:12
And again in Job 12:10, "In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind."
Elihu, a friend of Job, also acknowledges the source of life, "The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life." Job 33:4
John 1:1-4, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men."
Peter shares the Gospel with a gathered audience, "You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. We are witnesses of this." Acts 3:15
In thinking about the life God has given, may I use it for His glory and to praise Him, "I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing praise to my God as long as I live." Psalm 146:2
Just as God set before the Israelites a choice for life or death, He sets the same choice before each of us. It is not for everyone else but you, if you have not made this choice between life and death - please read on and consider, "Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, 'Who will ascent into heaven and get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?' Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, 'Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so that we may obey it?' No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.
See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.
But if your heart turns away and you are not obedient, and if you are drawn away to bow down to other gods and worship them, I declare to you this day that you will certainly be destroyed. You will not live long int he land you are corssing the Jordan to enter and possess.
This day I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob." Deuteronomy 30:11-20
Tell yourself this truth today: Life is from God.

Amen! And yes, I love your baby picture! :)
Aww...your baby photo is just adorable! Thank you for sharing such wonderful verses here. What a blessing! I hope you had a wonderful Easter! I am still rejoicing in the knowledge that Jesus Christ arose and is now seated at the right hand of the Father making intercession for us! Oh, I do love Him so and praise Him for all He suffered for me! Have a blessed day in Him!
Thank you Monica for sharing this. So rich.
You shared the verses in such a beautiful way, great truth indeed! In Him is the greatest life there is... to me there really isn't a choice! But, indeed there is a choice and so sad that people do not realize the greatest blessings in life truly come from Him! May your week be blessed richly in Him!
Adorable, thanks for the encouragement.
Wonderful baby !
Hugs,
Franca
