I have just a few more Valentine ideas to share early this week! Pulling from what we did last year still, I made sugar cookies and cut out enough for each of the kids to have their own tray to decorate! They each got to take some home as well!
After this, they colored on the "tablecloth" and got it all decorated for dinner! (I guess I forgot to take an "after" photo!) I also had some coloring pages printed out for the kids to make pictures for their Mom!

Monica,
Those sugar cookies look yummy! I opted instead this year to make heart-shape muffins--Melissa's poppy seed recipe.
I love the idea of being able to color on the tablecloth. Storing that one away for the future for sure!
I've often lurked around your blog enjoying all the many wonderful entries and photos. Such a welcoming and charming blog. Thank you for sharing a glimpse into your world.
Thanks for all your ideas! I just printed off 3 coloring pages for my little ones to make into a Valentine card later during craft time. I like the idea of the table cloth idea and I am thinking about doing that for Valentine's day.
Great ideas!!! :) I love them!
you have the cutest craft ideas on your blog! I love all the valentines day crafts! Keep the good ideas comming, I'm putting you on my favorites list!!!
Thank you for the inspiration! We are having dinner with new friends from church on Valentine's Day, and I've been trying to think of some fun hostess gift to take along with me. I think I'll make some of our favorite sugar cookies... we have tons of heart cookie cutters I'm pretty sure (no Christmas ones... but lots of hearts! Go figure.) I'd make them now (since I'm all inspired and all) but I used the last eggs in last night's dinner. Since we are buying more tonight, I'll try to do the cookie baking tomorrow and the decorating on Wednesday! :)
And of course I'll put some in the freezer for after the baby comes. :)
Fun fun! I just posted about the cookies I made over the weekend too!
Have a wonderful Valentine's Day!
What a great idea of getting your kids involved. I will have to tuck that into my mommybrain for the future!
Thanks for the link for the coloring pages. I will print out a few for our Valentine party.
I saw the tablecloth idea someplace else recently - what a fun idea. Where do you get your paper? I just found your blog this weekend and enjoy looking at all the crafty posts. :)
Michie - this is just brown kraft paper, I got it on sale at Walgreens. I did have to piece it to get it to cover the entire table!
I just LOVE that coloring tablecloth idea.
I have let the children color their masterpieces on the underside of our wooden kitchen table. Someday when someone turns it over they will be quite surprised.
Blessings, Joanne
