Easter Grass

One week ago today, I planted this Easter grass! Oh my, needless to say I seem to have started it a bit too early! I think I'll give it a trim and see if I can keep it going until Easter! Next year I'll know that to plant it one week before will be plenty of time! But in spite of how fast it is growing, I am thrilled with the results!

Pretty neat, Monica. And maybe I still have time to get in on the action...

For what it's worth, one time Chloe's preschool class made these- not sure what they called them, but what they did was to fill sections of women's hose with potting soil and grass seed, then tied them closed and put them in a plastic cup. Okay, so the grass seed was just placed on the top of the thing. The grass sprouted up like hair and the kids had a ball cutting it and watching it grow again and cutting it again and watching it grow again (you get the idea) - basically if it's grass, you can "mow" it right there in your basket and it will come right back at you!

Monica, your Easter grass is amazing! I'm impressed -- it looks so cute in Emily's little basket!

Love, Mom

How cute! Do you have a juicer? People pay $4 a shot for wheat grass juice!

No, I don't have a juicer - but when researching how to grow this stuff, discovered how many health food stores carry powder, liquid, etc... It must be VERY healthy, though some sources said it was an acquired taste! :)
