Flying W Ranch

It was so nice to be able to go to Flying W Ranch again this year! They have been closed since destroyed by the Waldo Canyon Fire in 2012 and just re-opened this May. Our family has been there a number of times over the years, but this was the first time I was able to take our kids. I worked there one summer and we just have a lot of memories there.

Obviously it was quite different since the orientation of the property and buildings are all different, but the focus on God and faith were still there along with the entertaining show and delicious chuckwagon dinner!

Welcome back Flying W!

Hello Colorado!

After getting close to two years since our last visit to Colorado, I am so grateful we had the opportunity to make this visit a reality this summer! Summer camp, time in the mountains and seeing special people filled our time here.

Pulling into town, we headed straight for a favorite overlook and the collective gasp when we first rolled down our windows and breathed the sweet and clear mountain air was such a fun way to start our time!

A place of peace

While on our road trip, we had the opportunity to stop and see my Dad's grave for the first time. I titled this post a place of peace with these thoughts in mind:

- the cemetery is a peaceful place

- it is peaceful knowing this is complete and that we had the opportunity to visit

- we are at peace knowing he is with the Lord and no longer suffering

- we find our peace in the Lord even in sorrow
