Camping Beauty
Mini pinecones collected on a hike make a perfect little accent at the base of my thermos!
As I mentioned with the apple pie, I love to bring some homey things to do and enjoy outside - it just feels so special! Since we were camping with friends, I wanted a mama craft that would be simple enough we could do at the picnic table.
The plaid printables were supposed to be candy bar wrappers for a backyard camping party but I decided they would make a cute garland! Cut, fold and tape in place - so easy. Both of us hung these in our tents! Swoon!
Seeking, enjoying and even adding touches of beauty is a big happy place for me! And since I find it relaxing and enjoyable, I definitely try to work beauty into our lives whether we are home or not!
I had asked each of our kids to plan an activity to do together with our friends and Emily's was a big hit with the creek right there: boat making! They made all sorts of little boats and tested them in the creek waters! Wow, this occupied everyone for quite some time and there was a lot of creativity going on!
Scout is not a big fan of water but he sure loved all the cooking smells! Ha!
Seeing beauty in simple ordinary things is a joy and pleasure!
Reading the Proverb of the day, I spied this, "The words of a man's mouth are deep waters, but the fountain of wisdom is a bubbling brook." And this was my view:
Next to a mountain creek was the perfect place to think about this fountain of wisdom!
