Peace Restored

After such a rough week, I decided Friday was a day to restore peace, to just love on my children and to bring slow, comfort and beauty into our world.

I let everyone sleep in and then got their warm, jammied selves into the car and we went out for donuts. A treat! And, yes, I am the kind of person who puts a stripy straw in my canning jar and takes little happy flags to the donut shop just.for.fun.

Rabbit trail: I bought a tshirt that looked exactly like the one below several years ago for $5 on clearance. I've worn and worn and worn it and it is really wearing out - it has several holes and patches on it and the white flowers are pretty sad looking. A week ago I found the exact.same.shirt at Goodwill in my size for $3.99 - yep, snatched that baby up and thrifted my old one. Here's to a few more years with my fave shirt!

Then some schooling commenced before Samuel's violin lesson - he recently started. Isn't that the cutest thing ever? He loves it which I find completely adorable.

On the way home, we spontaneously stopped at Hallmark to pick out Christmas ornaments. Rachel had to request her ornament from another store since they were out of the one she wanted and she did not want her photo taken until she has her ornament in hand.

Cookie baking and a little crafting were next before a fun family night which I'll show in my next post!
