Sole Hope

Several months ago, I read an article about Sole Hope in Life:Beautiful magazine. I was immediately drawn to the idea and I love hands on ways to serve like this. I ordered the party kit and the Africa cookie cutter and was just waiting for the right time/opportunity to host.

Fast forward to knowing my Mom was coming and wanting to get my Mama friends together to introduce them to my Mom and vice versa. This was a perfect moms night out - and simple to host. We cut out sixteen pairs of shoes in about two hours and had fun visiting in the process!

It was exciting to know that old jeans, milk jugs getting recycled and cotton or old sheets can be but up and made into shoes for children in Africa. And, even better - the mamas that sew them together learn a vocation and get paid to finish the shoes we've cut out.
