Slow: Exodus 34:1-11
Exodus 31:1-11
This one is less of a commentary and more of an active study for you!
*How does Moses display a slow posture? Look for surrender, less, obedience and worship.
*God uses the word "slow" in verse 6. How does that comfort you?
*Remember how the Israelites even came to need a second set of tablets. Look at Exodus 32:1-6 and 15-20. Does that add any appreciation to your heart and mind for God's slowness to anger?
*What can you apply in your own life here for becoming slow to anger? Do you believe the best about people? If I have chosen a heartstyle of s.l.o.w. - how will that slow my anger tendencies?
*Pray along with Moses in verse 8 personalized:
"O Lord, if I have found favor in your eyes, please go with me. Although I am stiff necked, forgive my wickedness and my sin, and take me as your inheritance."
*Look at verse 10, think about God's words to, "do wonders never before done" and remember, who is God talking to: ____________! Name some of the wonders already seen by these people by looking in the following verses:
Exodus 7:10
7:20-21
8:6
8:17
8:24
9:6
9:10
9:23-24
10:13-15
10:22-23
12:29
14:19-20
14:21-22
14:24
14:27-28
14:29
15:25
Now, read verse 10 again. What an amazing thought!
*How do you see God calling you to a heart of slow in this passage?
