One day we were able to get out to a thrift store and we each found a couple of goodies! Here is a before and after project! The shade was inspired by this. Total cost: $4!
So, here is where we started - kinda tacky actually!
I quickly dumped out all of the old smelly potpourri and destroyed the lamp shade - getting better:
Then, I tore strips of canvas drop cloth and wrapped them around each section of the wire frame.
Much better!!
And, here it is in its new home:

WOW --that is a great find !
I love your home and your style -
I would think you may have to be careful that the material doesn't overheat and catch fire. Though fabric lampshades are just that too, huh? Fabric!
It looks beautiful and love your mantle top -- gorgeous ! Great sign too!
Fun find and transformation :)
Love, Mom
You have a great eye! I posted about my trip to Miss Mustard Seeds booth today.
Enjoy your day!
Lamp is cute with the shells in it! I love your sign too about peace. I love amish books and notice that the amish always seem to have joy and contentment doing mundane everyday chores. I long for feeling joy doing everyday things....
Lovely!
Great eye to see the potential in a potpourri filled vase. I see the ideas online but then forget them when I see an object at a yard sale or thrift store.
Love this!!
It's a gift to see something and picture something different with it. You have such a gift.
Simple, stylish, & soooo clever! Love the arrangement & the peace sign!!!
Love it! it looks great there!
