This post brought tears to my eyes. What a wonderful way to remember him on this day. My husband lost his father when I was pregnant with our first.... my husband was only 23 years old. It is still hard, we still miss him. What a blessing to your children to show honor to their grandfather this way. From his tombstone I can see how he dedicated his life to serving our country! It is interesting that legacy continues on as your husband serves our nation on a local level as a police officer. We are SO shaped by our parents. I LOVE the last picture of your husband and son! Though I don't know your family in real life I can tell that the wonderful legacy of love that was passed on is continuing to be passed on. One generation to the next!

So hard for you all. God give you grace at this special time of remembering.
I meant to say something about this the other day. Looks like you had a beautiful day to pay tribute to a dear loved one!
The missing never ends.
Remembering David's dad with you...a generous man who was "outstanding!" :) Love to you all, Mom/Grammie

Blessings of memories--may they sustain you.
Thinking of and praying for your family, Monica. Beautiful pictures and love how you include your children in remembering their grandfather!
